Historiallinen hetki ! Ensimmäisen kerran FIFé-historiassa cymricit hyväksyttynä rotuna näyttelyssä - Mini ja Bitsy rotunsa ensimmäiset edustajat. Kotimaiset

kasvattimme kilpailivat vielä XLH:na (ei-hyväksyttynä pitkäkarvana).

Bitsykin ymmärsi asian tärkeyden ja käyttäytyi !! Neidin kielenkäyttöhän oli viimeisimmässä näyttelyssä (lähes vuosi sitten) melkoisen painokelvotonta ; D

Näyttelyyn menon tarkoitus täyttyi - käyttäytymisharjoituksena, ja pitihän meidän osallistua, kun se viimeinkin oli oikeassa rodussa mahdollista. Jeeeee !!!

Edustuskuviakin tuli otettua, lauantaina näyttelyn jälkeen menimme tuomarikahviona käytössä olleeseen huoneeseen kuvailemaan, kuvia otti Marika Lahti - KIITOS!

Rouvan innokkuus päästä näyttelyhallin puolelle "hiukka" häiritsi kuvaamista, karkaili poseerauksista ihailemaan lasiseinän takaa näkyvää actionia : )

Bitsy taas häämatkalla - maaliskuu 2006

Olin luvannut, että Bitsy tekisi vauvoja myös Johannalle (Deimos), niinpä helmikuuun lopussa kun kiimoja oli ollut kokoajan, koitti aika lähteä kylään Minin

luokse. Pariskunnalla oli lystiä, niin minullakin kun Bitsyn palatessa kotiin päästiin heti pesulle. Rouva oli viettänyt paaaljon aikaa hiekkapurkissa kieris- 

kellen ja lopputulos oli sitten sen näköinen ja -hajuinen ; D Rouvan tiineys näkyi "pornotisseinä" 3:n viikon paikkeilla ja 4:n viikon kohdalla jo selvästi pyöristynyt.

Pennut syntyivät - 4. toukokuuta 2006

Synnytykseen valmistautuminen oli kuten viimeksikin, armotonta kehräystä viimeiset päivät. Muutamia tunteja ennen synnytystä rouva alkoi kulkea perässäni

jokapaikkaanja arvasin että kohta tapahtuu. Yöllisen punnerruksen tuloksena oli nopeassa tahdissa porukka punaista ja cremeä, lisää täällä Bitsy & Deimos

Synnytys meni hienosti ja pennut ovat hännättömiä. Pennut kasvavat täällä kotonani, mutta rekisteröidään Johannan kasvattajanimelle.

Ja mitä sitten - syksy 2006

Pentujen muutettua käytiin rouvan kanssa hankkimassa viimeinen CAC FIFén Champion-titteliä varten. Rouvan näyttelyttäminen ei ole ihan helppoa, esiin-

tyminen sujuisi loistavasti, jos hän saisi olla hallin ainut kissa : D Vieraiden kissojen näkeminen herättää lähinnä kiukkua ja kiroilu on kauheaa.. kynsien ja hampaiden olemassaoloa ei onneksi ole vieläkään keksinyt.  Lokakuisessa näyttelyssä tuomarin pöytä oli kivasti syrjemmällä eikä "vihollisia" ollut näkyvillä.

Pitsiliina hankkiutui tuolla myös kategorian 3 (lyhytkarvarodut) parhaaksi siitosnaaraaksi, 2 pennuista oli tuomarinsa parhaita pentuja ja 1 tuomarin paras

aikuinen naaras. Aikamoinen suoritus daamilta, varsinkin tässä rodussa.

Maaliskuu 2007

Rouvan harvat näyttelykäynnit lientynevät entisestään, Turun näyttelyt punapää vietti tyynesti omassa buduaarissaan, eikä esiintymistä edes kokeiltu. Painokelvoton teksti jo ELL-tarkastuksessa kertoi minulle sen ettei näyttely voi olla niiiiin tärkeää. Takapää tahtoi seksiä (kiima) ja etupää "haistatteli".

Jatkossa mietitään, josko jonain päivänä lähdettäisiin johonkin pienempään näyttelyyn kokeilemaan ja toivotaan että tuomarin arvostelu on "sillee kivasti

syrjässä" : D  Muuten, kaikki on kuten ennenkin,  Bitsy viettää aikaansa kotosalla rakastettuna lemmikkinä, harrastaen remmikävelyitä ja nukkuen edelleenkin

enimmäkseen naamani päällä : )

Maaliskuu 2008

Bitsylle uusia pentuja - ennätyspotti, 8 pentua, joista 2 syntyi kuolleena, selvää syytä ei löytynyt avauksessa, ehkä kaikkia ei vain ollut tarkoitettu eläjiksi.

Loput 6 voivat mainiosti ja Bitsy on jälleen osoittanut emäntaitonsa. Viimeistään siinä vaiheessa, kun 5 päivää myöhemmin syntyneistä Miimiin pennuista 1. hengen pelasti Bitsy. Olin nukahtanut hetkeksi ja heräsin Bitsyn toohotukseen ja naukumiseen, Miimiin synnytys oli ehtinyt käynnistyä.  Nousin ylös ja näin lattialla Bitsyn nuolemassa vastasyntynyttä Miimiin 1:stä pentua, välillä naukuen. Pentu oli aivan hengetön ja ihan viileä, mutta lähti kuin lähtikin yllätyksekseni hengittämään voimakkaan elvytyksen jälkeen.

Tuon jälkeen Miimiin synnytys jatkui ihan mainiosti, jos nyt sellaiseksi voi laskea synnytystä jossa toinen emä (Bitsy) nuolee pennut puhtaiksi syntymän jälkeen ja katkoo vielä napanuoratkin : D Bitsyn pelastama pentu toipui hienosti ja siitä (Unicorn) kasvoi oikein komea ja terve kolli.

Lystikkäänä yksityiskohtana vielä se, että Bitsy suureksi osaksi myös imetti yksin nuo 2 pentuetta, oman T-pentueensa ja Miimiin U-pennut, yhteensä 10 pentua. Miimii viisaana tyytyi monesti vain istuksimaan ja pesemään vauvojaan kun näki että Bitsy jo hoiti homman. Mikäs siinä oli puhallessa vieressä : )

Elokuu 2008

Muutamia viikkoja aiemmin olin jo huomannut, että Bitsyn livahtaminen Nelsonin luo makuuhuoneeseen suihkukäyntini ajaksi olikin tuottanut yllätysodotuksen.

Astumista ei nähty eikä kuultu, enkä vieläkään tiedä miten niin huomaamatta Rouva oli sinne ovenraosta livahtanut. Yhdistelmä oli ihan sallittu, ei siinä mitään, mutta kovin pian edellisten jälkeen. Ja vieläpä yhdistelmä, jota en ajatellut koskaan tehdä. Yksinkertaisina syinä ulkomuodolliset seikat, Nelson ei kantanut pitkää karvaa ja muutenkin ajattelin että pennut voisivat jäädä turhan kapoisiksi ja korkeiksi, Nelson tuntui tarvitsevan supertuhdin daamin, jotta pennuista tulisi tarpeeksi pyöryläisiä. Muutenkin oli tarkoitus säästää Bitsyä myöhemmin ja ihan toisella pojalla astutettavaksi.

No... ihan ihania pentuja sieltä tuli, W-pentue, 3 pentua, kaikki hännättömiä. Hiukka kapoisia ja korkeita, hitaasti kehittyviä mutta aivan ihania tietysti.

2009 - 2010

Kotona syntyneitä pentueita oli vain 2 koko aikana, Y-pentue (emänä Bitsyn ja Nelsonin vahinkopentueen Wicca) ja Z-pentu (1 ainoa Solariksesta ja Unicornista) .Bitsynkin kiimat ovat rauhoittuneet iän myötä. Niitä on äärimmäisen harvoin ja ne ovat rauhalista mallia, rouva on vain entistäkin herttaisempi kerran vuodessa : ) Saan aikaa miettiä, yritetäänkö Rouvalle vielä saada 1 pentue vai ei.. Loistojälkeä Bitsy on jättänyt, jälkeläiset ovat olleet tähän mennessä äärimmäisen terveitä, eikä Bitsyn bitchimäisyys näyttelykäyttäytymisen osalta tunnu periytyneen eteenpäin, ainakaan häiritsevässä määrin : D

Noin järkevästi ajatellen, mun pitäisi käyttää edes Tossua (Toes) vähän FIFé-puolella. Neiti on CH, ja 3 näyttelyä > IC, tekisi Bitsystä DM:n. Bitsy on antanut niin paljon hyvää Suomeen ja ulkomaillekin, joten DM olisi taatusti ansaittu tuonne nimen perään.

Keskityimme enemmän työ- ja kotielämään ja jonkun verran tuli käytyä CFA-näyttelyissä, myös ulkomailla, muiden kissojen kanssa.

Lisäksi valmistuin CFA:ssa Licensed Clerkiksi 4.4.2009 ja Licensed Master Clerkiksi 13.2.2011. FIFé-puolen näyttelyt ovat jääneet lähes täysin kuvioista, mutta kyllä sinnekin vielä pitää kait mennä : ) Ei mahda mitään, mutta CFA-puoli on paljon kiinnostavampi, näyttelyt mukavampia kun ovat pienempiä ja FIFé-näyttelyiden kaaottisuus puuttuu niistä kokonaan. En näe mitään syytä juosta FIFé-näyttelyissä, kun en niistä pidä, pelkkien voitttojen perässä. Niitä on saatu tarpeeksi ja ylikin näiden vuosien aikan : ) Harrastus toki jatkuu aktiivisena muuten ja lisäksi Suomen Manxrenkaan hommat ovat enimmäkseen FIFé-puolella, joten en mä vielä FIFéstä ihan eläkkeelle ole jäämässä. Ja edelleenkin rekisteröin kaikki pentuni FIFéen ja kaikki, joiden sukutaulut kelpaavat, niin myös CFA:han.

Kevät 2011

Pitkän mietinnän jälkeen päädyin astuttamaan Bitsyn Mikittimellä. Tuohon päädyin muiden astutussunnitelmien vuoksi ja myös siksi, että Bitsyn tytär NoNo aikanaan sai saman herran kanssa pentueen (R-pentue), mutta niitä ei käytetty jatkoon vaan leikattiin nuorina. Mikittimestä ei muutenkaan ole omaan kasvatukseen jäänyttä jatkoa, eikä juuri muutenkaan, joten koin että yhdistelmä olisi tekemisen arvoinen. Häät menivät kuten Bitsyn häät ennenkin, paitsi että Mikitin tuli meille kylään. Pariskunnalla kesti n. 5 sekuntia tapaamisesta kun hommat oli hoidettu jo ekan kerran.

Pentuja toivotaan syntyväksi heinäkuun 2011 alkupuoliskolla.

Tällä hetkellä ainakin vaikuttaa lupaavalta, Bitsy on ollut samanlainen kuin muutkin alkutiineydet, merkillinen talopoliisi toisille kissoille. Ei pahana, mutta kaipaa enemmän tilaa itselleen (mun vieressä : D ). Nostaa tassua stop-merkiksi ja sanoo hyvin hiljaa mrrrr jos ei jonkun kissan naama miellytä sillä hetkellä. Ja muuten sitten taas normaaliakin "onnellisempi". Merkillinen daami, tosissaan. Katsotaan...

Bringing Bitsy and Mini to Finland / autumn 2003 - summer 2004

Bringing LH Manx to Finland started from my point of view, when we surprisingly had a litter where  2 of kittens were longhair Manx ( Cymric). The version was not recognised in Fife like it was in other organisations. When thinking for a while, I felt that we would like to try to get the version recognised also in our organisation.

And of course, we needed more of them, to get "help". Tuija Aaltonen was interested of Longhairs and wanted to bring a boy. Searching started..

Originally, the plan was to find a LH Manx-boy to Tuija, but, a human is weak and when searching the boy, also Bitsy was "found". I had planned to bring a girl long long time, but a shorthair.., ah, well ; D Through a lot of "research" and searching we first found Mini (Romanxx Jake Delhomme) to Tuija and with the help of Mini's breederJean (Romanxx). I found Bitsy from Roslyn and Elliot (Currtail's). We were flying on clouds - Thank You Jean, Roslyn & Elliot !

At June 2004 I packed my bags and went to pick those 2 red "hairy ones",  Mini to Tuija and Bitsy for me. My friend Johanna (Deimos) wanted (and got) 1/2 of

her - although I got the better part, Bitsy is living with me ! She is so wonderful that I wanted to own her all so nowadays she is all mine mine mine : D

Flights Helsinki - Paris - Washington - Richmond and back went splendid, although thunderstorms and crew problems caused an extra night on Washington on way way back. We had a "quality time" with the kittens, after I had a "discussion" with the airline occifers I got a free room and this room happened to be the last available room in this fancy hotel surrounded by a georgius park. A "President suite",where kittens eagerly were playing with the silk sheets ; D

I was happy to see a CFA Show "in action" during my visit and also get to know local breeders. A great trip.

The kittens were very calm and brave during our long journey and did get familiar of handicap toilets in different countries : )

PR-stuff with the hairy ones /   2004 - summer 2005

We've been in a lot of Shows in Finland with Bitsy, Mini and Dani (Deimos Buon Giorno).  Kidi (D'manns Kimrick) is only a kitten, but been there too : )

Showing them is a good PR for the Manx Longhair-version. The idea was to show the cats to as many people as possible, get judges, audience and exhibitors

to "know" them. Bitsy thought that performing was wonnnderful, and the lady has made a lot of posivite PR, especially with her "walkings" in a leash at shows.

Unbelievable little thing, she walks in a leash like best behaving dog. And I haven't teached her, she's been like that from beginning -  maybe "American cats" are born with this skill  (atleast Bitsy is) ; D. I just put the harness on at that was it..

In Belgium with Bitsy - february 2005

Going in FIFé shows wasn't "enough" for us, so we decided to "get" something else also besides good publicity. Showing here was kind of unofficial and we 

weren't able to compete officially before the recognition of longhairs.

We went to Belgium, in a CFA Show 12.-13.2.2005 - Bitsy managed to final as a CFA CHAMPION. Some more thrill gave Princess's first heat, which started just before travelling and Little Ladys moods vere quite mixed up. Some judges did tell that they liked her a lot, and would have placed her in Finals, if only

would performed also others than males.. : ) The showplace was near Brussels, a very fancy neighbourhood, which mansions  made me hope a lottery win..

And in Netherlands - march 2005 

Well, we went to Netherlands too, Bitsy performing as a companion. Our goal was to get also Tuija's Mini as a CFA CHAMPION.. By airplane to Amsterdam and from there we continued by car admiring the wiews. I had some kind of memory of our route from my earlier holiday trip experiences. The roads there were in good condition and some do have a heavy throttle foot : ) Mini performed very nicely and got easily the Ribbons he needed (6), no Finals unfortunately, but in open class it isn't very easy to get placed in Finals. What comes to Bitsy, her highlights of our trip propably was chasing local spiders in our terrace - they were huge : D Pictures from Netherland trip

Sweden called  - may 2005

At last we got a permit to show our longhairs in Malmö, Fife's GA-meeting. Here's a story from our trip - GA-travelling story

The story could have been a quite different one too.. I giggled by my self, that if the "hairy ones" wouldn't been recognised, we would have taken a picture of

"Her Royal Bitschyness" in these certain castle ruins, which were along our route. Bitsy is very good in "Feline swearing" when she gets in that mood and

exaggerating her temperament and having a "little play" we would have funny picture of Princess, who got angry when lost our battle and broke her castle ; D

Kitten plans for Bitsy.. - June 2005

Bitsy has been busy with her heats since february (started in Belgium), and our special permit which I applied in march was granted, haven't got it officially in

paper, not atleast at the time when writing this and now it is the middle of the June.. Breeding longhairs here in Finland we need a permit to mate them, because the version is still a not recognised breed this year. Well, I took Bitsy anyway to  Dani  near Oulu, which is almost 600 km:s drive from here.

At same time I also took  Fiiu  with me, who also had the same "guy" in her mind and love was in the air ; D Bitsy fell in love with  Dani instantly and wanted

to have a wedding..

At one day Bitsy showed her "fakir skills" again when stuffing herself out of the pen in the garden, through stamp-size holes in fence, and marching straightly to the front door asking to get in.

I almost had a stroke when Dani´s owner Heli sent me a sms "You dont believe what Bitsy just did. Can you call me immediately?". You can imagine what horrible things I imagined when reading that. Bitsy was of course ok, but did give us a big scare and we didn't dare to put her in the pen again.. 

Unfortunately the wedding didn't give us the result we hoped, Dani didn't seem to be as much in love as Bitsy did - a new try later..

New wedding - July 2005 

Well, miss didn't become as Mrs, because she started a new heat 3,5 weeks after the first wedding. Didn't "look" like pregnent either : (  I packed Bitsy to the car again and to Dani. On the way we enjoyed as lunch (or as night snack to be specific) mosquitos and a veggie burger in a gas station at Jyväskylä.

We were at Heli's at 02.40 am when Heli was off to work and Bitsy being determined and marching straightly through the yard in her harness and through the

front door - this lady knows what she wants : ) And very ready for a new wedding - let's hope we get lucky this time !

Wedding is over and the hopes are high. When I was picking her home, Mrs. Houdini struck again ! After our photo shoot, we put her in to the garden pen,  and she noticed me packing things to the car and propably thought that she is going to be left again.. Suddenly we saw her calmly walking through the 

Birth, 12.9.2005

Giving birth started at night and the first kitten was coming with his feet first all mixed up, and his fluid bag had broken down. I did eventually get Neo-boy pulled out after I woke up my veterinary Tuija Salminen at 4 o'clock in the morning.. Calling Vet always helps : ) Bitsy was tough lying down being extremely kind and brave and let me pull the kitten out when I finally saw a toe to grab on. It obviously hurt a lot - she is the bravest ! Other kitten, a girl, came easily.

Sadly the first kitten slept away calmly at the same evening, the difficult birth was too much to him. Bitsy is being the best possible mom, gentle and calm.

We are thankful that NoNo and mum are doing fine : ) More of kittens at N-kittens and NoNo's own page.

Raising NoNo, september-december 2005

Mrs's kitten truly is one wild creature. Even the name (Naonar Nyn Onnor) describes the mini monsters character, temperament and stubberness is there for

9 lives (Naonar = 9 lives). The rest of the name means For Your Honour, being a thank you to daddy Dani and people behind mummy, Roslyn & Elliot (Romanxx) and Jean (Romanxx). It remains to be seen what kind of honour this little diva will bring us ; D Her nickname NoNo, is very fitting, I keep saying that all the time.. : ) Bitsy is a supersuper mum ! There is no better mum in the world, and it makes me even more proud of her !!

Historical moment ! The first time in FIFé-history cymrics were as a recognised breed in show - Mini and Bitsy were the first one's to participate. Our national

bred cymrics competed still as an XLH (not recognised longhair) in control classes to finalize their registration as cymrics.

Bitsy did understand how important this was a behaved !  Her use of the language had been in our last show (nearly a year ago) quite out of place ; D

We did fill our purposes to be there - as a behavior practice, and of course we had to enter, when it finally was possible as a cymric. Yippiaijee !!

New honeymoon - march 2006

I had promised, that Bitsy would make kittens also for Johanna (Deimos) , and time came to visit Mini at the end of february since she had been in heat all the time. They had a lots of fun, and so did I when she came back home - we went for a wash. Mrs. had spent a lotttts of time rolling in litterbox and the result was looking and smelling like that ; D Pregnency was seen clearly from her "porn-tits" at 3 wks time and at 4 wks she was already clearly rounder than usually.

Kittens arrive - 4th of May 2006

Preparing to give birth was like before, constant purring the last days. Few hours before she started to walk everywhere after me and I knew labour would happen soon. After nightly push ups we got quickly a bunch of red and creme, more of them at Bitsy & Deimos

wisdom" she said already in the Veterinary's check up told me that a show can nnnnnot be that important. Her bottom wanted sex (hormones rolling) and front said too many and noicy dirty words. In future we will see, if we might go some day to a smaller show to try and hope that the judges table would be "nicely a bit side from other cats : D  Otherwise, all is like usually, Bitsy spends her time at home as a greatly loved pet, having her walks in a leash and still sleeping mostly at my face, oh yes: )

March 2008

New kittens to Bitsy - big bunch of them, 8 kittens, of which 2 was stillborn, no clear reason was found in autopsy, maybe all just didn ment to make it.

Rest 6 are doing super and Bitsy has once again proved her mother skill's. Atleast at that point when she saved the life of 5 days later born Miimii's 1st born son. I had dropped down for a short nap and woke up Bitsy fussing around and miauwing,  delivery had started. I got up and saw Bitsy in the floor licking a 1st newborn of Miimii, miauwing in between. The kitten was lifeless and cold, but after rough recovery measures did start breathing to my surprise.

After that Miimii's delivery went just fine, and went even better since Bitsy did all the 1st aid things for Miimii's kittens - licked the newborns clean and even cut the cord's too : D The kitten who Bitsy saved recovered nicely and he (Unicorn) grew up into a hansom big healthy male.

As a funny addition, Bitsy was the 1 who mostly also nursed those 2 litters, her own T-kittens and Miimii's U-kittens, 10 kittens in all. Miimii was smart enough often just to sit up besides them and just groom her kittens when she saw that Bitsy was already feeding them.

August 2008

I had noticed already few weeks earlier, that Bitsy's sneaking into our bedroom to  Nelson, somewhere around my 5 minute shower visit - had made us a surprise result. I had no idea that she was even in heat, and nothing was saw or heard, we still don't know how she got there without us noticing that. The combination was allowed, nothing there but so soon after the last litter and also the combination i thought i would never make. Nelson didn't carry LH and i also thought kittens might be a bit too tall and narrow, Nelson seems to need a superstocky lady, to get roundish kittens. I also had thought saving Bitsy to be mated much later and someone else...

Well, we did get sweet kittens, W-kittens, 3 kits, all without tails. A little narrow and tall, like i thought, slow in maturing but wonderful of course.

2009-2010

I only had 2 litters at home the whole time, Y-kittens (Wicca from Bitsy's and Nelson's "accidentals" as the mum) and Z-kitten (only 1 from Solaris and Uni). Bitsy's heats had calmed over the years. They come extremely rarely and sill are peaceful, hard to even notice, she's just even more sweet like once a year : ) Let's me think, if we still try to make her 1 more litter or not.. She's given super offspring, they have been extremely healthy so far, and even her bithyness in shows doesn't seem to be inherited into kittens, atleast in a bothering way : D

So i focused more into work and normal life and did go to CFA shows quite a lot, also abroad, with other cats.

I also became CFA Licensed Clerk 4.4.2009 and Licensed Master Clerk 13.2.2011, being the 1st of both in Finland. I've skipped going into FIFé shows almost totally, but i have to go there too at some day, don't i : ) Cannot help it, but CFA is much more interesting, shows are smaller and nicer than the chaotic style in FIFé shows with 600-800 cats and zillion people.. I've done and gotten so much in FIFé and am not that competitive that would go and make myself crazy in FIFé shows just to win.. (and believe me, i´ve gotten so many wins there that i see no real need to get more lol).

I do have atleast 1 reason to go to few FIFé-shows.. i should show atleast Tossu (Toes), she's a FIFé CH and 3 more show's would make mum Bitsy a DM.

Bitsy has given so much here and also to abroad, so she would be 1 of those really deserving to have that added into her titles.

Of course this hobby continues, as long as i can and feels good, and i also have our Finnish manx-club's Suomen Manxrenkaan things, which are mostly in FIFé-side, so i'm not yet retiring FIFé : ) And still am registrating all my kittens to FIFé too.

Spring 2011

After long thinking i decided to mate Bitsy once more, with Mikitin. I ended up with that due to other mating-plans and also because Bitsy's daughter Nono had a litter with Mikitin few years back (R-kittens), but they were never used but neutered yound. And i don't have much anything out of Mikitin at my own use, and in all not much anyway, so i felt that it would be worth doing. Wedding went like Bitsy's alwasy, with the exception that Mikitin came here to mate. It took like 5 seconds from seeing each other to and 1st time was already done.

We're hoping to get kittens at early July, 2011.

At this point looks promising, Bitsy has been like in early pregnencies before, a strange cop in the house to other cats. Not in bad mood, but kinda needs more space for herself (besides me). Lifts her paw as a stop sign and very calmly and silently says mrrr if some other cats face doesnt amuse her at that minute.

And in other ways is just even more happy than usually. She's a strange lady, indeeed. We'll see..
